Mr. Tatyasaheb Revdekar
DirectorRamakant Narayan, also known as Tatyasaheb Revadekar, was born in the famous mill area of Mumbai. Born into a middle-class family, Revadekar’s son received his early education at a Mumbai Municipal Corporation school. After studying at the municipal school until the 7th grade, he completed his further education up to the 12th grade through the Social Service League. Given the circumstances of the mill area at that time, it was no surprise that Ramakant developed a strong inclination towards social work! Even during his student days, he began his social work by becoming a member of the Vidyarthi Akarsh Utkarsh Mandal in Lalbaug. Along with social work, Ramakant, who was also passionate about the arts, showcased his talent in numerous plays and one-act plays. After completing his 12th-grade education, he completed a diploma in Surveying from ITI. Based on this diploma, he first conducted a survey of the Ganges River in Bihar and subsequently the Satluj River in Kashmir through the Central Government’s ‘Hydraulic Survey of India’. In 1985, he was appointed as a ‘Surveyor’ in the Mumbai Collector’s office. Even here, the artist within him wouldn’t let him rest. He actively participated in office gatherings and many union programs, leaving his mark. During this period, in 1989, he produced and directed the film ‘Yashoda Namdev Pachpute’ in collaboration with Gulab Joshi. In 2005, he produced the film ‘Sasarcha Panga Savaticha Inga’, based on the theme of dowry deaths. While all these things were happening, his passion for social work wouldn’t let him rest. Seeing the situation around him, he decided to dedicate his life to society. Following this decision, in 2014, he took voluntary retirement from government service and entered politics. Baka started his political career by accepting the responsibility of ‘Maharashtra State President’ in the Janata Party. Prior to that, in 2005, he established the ‘Marathi Ekta Manch’ organization and united approximately 200,000 Marathi people. In 2006, he took on the role of Vice President of the ‘International Human Rights Association’. From 2016 onwards, he became the National Executive President of the Delhi Janata Party. Currently, he serves as the National General Secretary of the same Delhi Janata Party. He also works as a Director of the ‘Jayaprakash Narayan Foundation’, an organization that propagates the principles and ideals of Jayaprakash Narayan.
